It's 1941, late November. In the Northwestern Front, an aerial battle unfolds above a German tank column heading towards Moscow. Two Soviet Il-2 ground attack aircraft that stopped the enemy tanks' advance came under fire from German fighter planes. One of the Il-2s is shot down and crashes. Vastly outnumbered, the crew of the remaining Il-2 - Captain Nikolai Komlev and gunner Shota - masterfully maneuver and shoot back at the German planes but are eventually hit.
